Week 8 Waiver Wire Adds

We are at the point of the season where wins become detrimental. One loss could kick you out of the playoffs, making your fantasy season over. There is always room for improvement for your team, and the Waiver Wire is an important asset. Streaming QB and defenses can be more important than ever, as you fight for a spot in your playoffs. Listed below are some guys who I would recommend you try to get. There may be people on your waiver wire that are over the 60% threshold so it's worth a look. I will prioritize each position, starting with the player who I would recommend you getting first.
QB-
Mitchell Trubisky (51.1%)- He has been a top 5 QB the past 3 weeks. Trubisky has thrown for over 300 yards in the past 3 games and has also thrown 11 touchdowns. He had success on the ground, rushing for 181 yards since week 4. This offense has completely turned around as of late. If this team continues to play at this level, Trubisky will easily be a top 10 QB at the end of the season. If he is still available in your league you need to get him. He can also be nice trade bait if you are able to steal him from a team that needs a QB.
Baker Mayfield (40.6%)- He had an off game this past week, but still managed to put up a season high 24 points. His rushing yards gave him a few extra points. This offense needs to turn things around sooner than later. They staged a nice comeback in the second half, but lost to the Buccaneers in overtime. He gets a nice matchup against the Steelers who have given up the 4th most points to the QB position. If Mayfield gets this offense figured out, he could have a good day.
C.J. Beathard (6.5%)- The Rams got the better of this team last week, but I think he could have a bounce back game. He faces the Cardinals this week. He has already seen this team in week 5 and threw for 349 yards and two touchdowns. I think the Cardinals defense can easily be exploited and Beathard will take advantage of that. Other than last week, he had 3 straight games with over 20 fantasy points. He is a solid streamer this week.
Another QB to consider streaming this week: Joe Flacco
RB:
Marlon Mack (53.9%)- Hopefully you were able to pick him up last week, but if not, he needs to be added if he is available. He was given 21 total touches in this game, while scoring 2 touchdowns. He looks to be the bell cow for an offense which has been rolling lately. Starting RB are one of the most valuable players in fantasy football, so if he is somehow still available he needs to be rostered.
Ito Smith (45.9%)- With Devonta Freeman being placed on IR, it opens up a huge opportunity for Smith. He is currently 13th in the league in redzone carries and has 3 touchdowns in the last 4 weeks. He is seeing almost a complete split in snaps with Tevin Coleman. Coleman just has not looked good lately. I think the Falcons will give Smith more of an opportunity, with Coleman set to hit the free agent market in the offseason.
Aaron Jones (49.7%)- He has been dropped in quite a bit of leagues recently. That has to do with the bye and his under-utilization. It has to come around eventually. Just looking at him he looks like the better back on this team. They need to let him lose for one game and see what they are missing out on. He was dropped in a few of my leagues, and I am going to go get him.
Raheem Mostert (3.9%)- The smart move for the 49ers would be to rest Breida and let Mostert run wild. In week 6 he ran for 87 yards on 12 carries, even with Breida playing. Last week Breida was once again injured and Mostert took 7 carries for 59 yards. He also caught 4 passes in this game. In the 49ers do decide to sit Breida, Mostert would be a nice bye week fill in.
Jalen Rishard (17.7%) & Doug Martin (17.7%)- Weirdly enough they are both available at the same percentage. For me, I lean Rishard out of the two. Marshawn Lynch has been place on IR ending his year. Someone has to take over that role right? I believe Rishard is the best bet to get the job. He is used more in the passing game, getting at least 5 targets in each of the past 4 weeks. Doug Martin on the other hand, has 5 targets all season. They both should see an uptick in carries.
D'Onta Foreman (7.4%)- He should begin to resume practicing in the near future. He has a nice shot to push Lamar Miller for carries once he returns. He looked great before he got injured last season. He is worth add if you have a spot at the end of your bench.
WR:
Tre'Quan Smith (8.7%)- With Ted Ginn Jr. placed on IR, Smith has a chance to gain more playing time. Any WR who can consistently be on the field with Drew Brees, has a great shot of putting up some points. In his first game with over 70% of snaps, he caught 3 passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns. He will take over the down the field threat role that Ginn previously had. He is fast and Drew Brees will be using him more and more each week.
Chris Godwin (46.0%)- He has had at least 5 catches and 50 yards in 3 of his last 4 games. He has been a consistent weapon for the Buccaneers. He has had 8 redzone targets this season and 4 touchdowns. With how well this offense has performed, he will continue to be a solid flex/WR3 option.
Tyrell Williams (8.4%)- Rivers has been connecting with the deep ball in recent weeks. In 2 straight games, Williams has had 117 receiving yards. He also has 3 touchdowns over that span. He will be big play dependent, but as shown in past games, it is very possible. He is on a bye this week so he may not be prioritized in most waivers.
Danny Amendola (24.4%)- He is a solid streamer this week with the amount of WR that are injured for the Dolphins. He was had 14 catches in the past two games, scoring in the most recent one. He will be leaned on heavily if Stills and Wilson are out in this weeks game.
Kelvin Benjamin (33.0%)- There seems to be a lot of chemistry with Derek Anderson. He had his best game this season, catching 4 passes for 71 yards. It wasn't much but there could be some serious upside if Anderson remains under center. He is the primary target in this offense and if McCoy is out, Kelvin may see an uptick in usage.
Courtland Sutton (8.6%)- He made a lot of noise in the preseason, but hasn't done to much this season. There is a chance that his teammate Demaryius Thomas will get traded before the trade deadline. If that was to happen, Sutton will see a huge uptick in usage. Thomas has averaged 7 targets a game this season and Sutton would take some of those if a trade were to happen. This pickup is more of a "what if" type of situation, but will pay dividends if Thomas is dealt.
TE:
Vance McDonald (40.9%)- He may have been dropped in leagues because of his bye week. He returns with a matchup against the Browns, who have been middle of the pack against TE. In 3 of his last 4 games, he has had at least 4 catches and 60 yards. He should continue to get that type of production going forward.
C.J. Uzomah (40.1%)- He was a solid streamer last week for me. I had to fill in for Gronk as most people did. He only caught 2 passes, but one of them was for a touchdown. He should continue to see redzone targets as he has become the TE1 for this team. The offense as a whole had a down week, so I expect better days for Uzomah.
Ben Watson (34.4)- He finally scored last week. He should have more than one touchdown on the season, but it was nice to see him actually get one. He has caught 10 passes over his last two games. Watson should be a solid streamer in weeks to come.
Jack Doyle (25.1%)- He should be returning from injury in the coming weeks. If you are hurting at TE he is a nice target to add. The Colts will be able to sustain 2 TE when he returns. He may take a backseat to Ebron with how well he has performed, but Doyle will still be apart of what has become a high powered offense.
D/ST:
Washington Redskins (14.2%)
Indianapolis Colts (48.1%)
New England Patriots (47.7%)
Arizona Cardinals (40.9%)
