Week 14 Waiver Wire Adds

I hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving last week with their families. Now, it's win or go home for most fantasy leagues. We have finally reached the fantasy playoffs. It is a bittersweet feeling but this is what we all play towards. For those of you with a bye, take a look at next weeks streaming options to stay ahead of the game. Make sure you are getting the right plays in for this weekend. It is always hard to lose on the first round. We are looking towards Championships. Below will be my favorite pickups for this first round of playoffs. If you have already planned ahead, you should have a stress free waiver day. One of my favorite tips is to see who your opponent needs this week also. Even if you don't need a QB, but your opponent does, go steal the best available. As always, I will be using ESPN ownership projections. Good luck to everyone who has made the playoffs!
QB:
Ryan Tannehill (21.4%)- He has been on fire since taking over the starting job for the Titans and it won't stop this week. He now has multiple touchdowns in 5 of his last 6 games. Against a soft Raiders defense, he should have no trouble continuing the trend. The Titans are also fighting for a playoff spot. I expect a nice game from Tannehill this week.
Ryan Fitzpatrick (5.8%)- I will be rolling out Fitzmagic for the first round of playoffs. I will admit I am a little uneasy about it but he has been on fire. He also has one of the best fantasy schedules moving forward. I have wrote about him in my playoff waiver pickup and now is time to use him. After beating the Eagles last week, the Dolphins should continue their momentum against the Jets. It also helps that the Jets star defensive player Jamal Adams will miss this weeks game.
Sam Darnold (33.3%)- I get it, he burned a ton of people last week including my own dad. I do think he has a great chance to rebound this week against the Dolphins. I actually wouldn't be surprised to see both QB throw for 2+ touchdowns. The Dolphins are one of the worse defenses in the league. If Tannehill or Fitzmagic aren't available, I would be looking at Darnold this week.
Daniel Jones (37.5%)- I actually picked him up a few weeks ago to start ahead of Josh Allen but I will be looking to pivot to Tannehill. The amount of turnovers he has had is troubling for fantasy owners. He does get a matchup against the Eagles who just got ran over by the Eagles. I still think he is an ok streaming option this week but I would much rather pivot to the top 2 guys. If Jones does get things going, he gets to face Miami and Washington next.
RB:
Alexander Mattison (19.1%)- I have been saying it every single week for a while now. Top end handcuffs can be very valuable. Dalvin Cook injured his shoulder in last weeks game and although he said he will play this week, you just never know. If Cook misses any time, I see Mattison as a top 10 RB for the fantasy playoffs. If you have Cook but didn't get Mattison you have some stiff competition on the waiver wire.
Rashaad Penny (41.4%)- It is a full blown committee in Seattle now. Penny took 15 rushes for 74 yards and a touchdown. This is one of the most run heaviest team in the league and seems to be giving Penny his fair share of opportunities. Even with Carson still getting work, Penny is startable for this week.
Raheem Mostert (12.6%)- He took over the backfield last week against the Ravens and looks to continue to hold off Coleman this week. Mostert out-touched Coleman 21-6. It is a difficult matchup against the Saints, but if Mostert gets this same kind of volume, he is going to be a great play. If Matt Breida plays this week, this could also hinder Mostert's outlook.
Benny Snell Jr. (29.1%)- I wish we knew more about James Conner and Matt Breida coming into tonight. I would actually put Snell over Mostert if we knew Breida was out once again. Snell could very well end up being the better play. I do think Mostert has more upside if everything goes the right way. That is why I have him over Snell. With Conner out last week Snell handled 17 touches for 67 yards and a touchdown. This week he gets a very beatable Cardinals defense.
WR:
Zach Pascal (21.0%)- With Hilton likely still out and Chester Rodgers injured from last weeks game, I like another huge performance from Pascal. He took 7 catches for 109 yards last week, operating as the teams WR1. The Colts face the Bucc's defense who has not been great against opposing WR this year. I am starting Pascal with confidence this week.
Deebo Samuel (44.1%)- He is still available in quite a bit leagues which kinda surprises me. He did only have 2 catches last week but he still managed a touchdown. The Saints defense has allowed the 10th most fantasy points to opposing WR this year. This is a game I expect the 49ers to need to throw in this game. He should be a solid flex play this week.
James Washington (23.6%)- With Juju likely still out, Washington should continue to operate as the teams WR1. He hasn't got many catches these last 2 weeks, but he does have 209 yards and 2 touchdowns. He has a great connection with Hodges and that should continue to show this week against a very beatable Cardinals defense.
A.J. Brown (28.0%)- If I love Tannehill this week I have to like his passcatchers right? I think this is going to be a Brown week. He had his breakout game 2 weeks ago going for 135 yards and a touchdown. He is a special talent and I have a gut feeling he finds the endzone this week. I don't expect the Raiders to stop the Titans offensively this week.
Anthony Miller (11.8%)- He had an amazing game last week catching 9 passes for 140 yards. His target share for this team has been insane over the last few weeks. It is not a difficult matchup against the Cowboys who have allowed the 6th fewest fantasy points per game to the position. If he maintains this amount of target share, he should have a decent day.
TE:
Jack Doyle (50.7%)- I am cheating here since he is just over the 50% threshold, but he is a must add. He led my list last week since Ebron is on IR and he came through with a great game. He is going to be a top 5-7 TE for the rest of the year with the amount of injuries on this Colts offense. This passing offense should run through Pascal and Doyle.
Jacob Hollister (42.5%)- A frequent member on this list is here once again. He still isn't over the threshold yet but he should. He has 16 catches over his last 3 games. His only downside is how much this team runs the ball. He is still a top option for Wilson in this offense. If you still have him for the fantasy championship, he gets the awful Cardinals defense.
Tyler Higbee (4.7%)- He may be a better play this week than Hollister if Everett is out once again. He took over the starting TE role and caught 7 passes for 107 yards and a score. This was against the Cardinals who are the worst in the league against opposing TE. This week is Seattle who have allowed the 2nd most points per game.
Mike Gesicki (14.9%)- This pass offense has been great over the last few weeks and they should continue their success until the end of the year. It is always tough to trust a Dolphins player, but other than Parker, no one has stood out. Gesicki has now scored in back to back games. Last week he took 5 catches for 79 yards and a score. He should continue to get work and be a viable streaming option.
DEF:
Packers (31.5%)
Texans (13.9%)
Cowboys (47.5%)
Titans (31.2%)
