Week 11 Waiver Wire Pickups

11/13/2018

Welcome back to my weekly waiver wire column. There are only 3 more weeks until the fantasy playoffs begin. It is time to start stashing some guys to give you an advantage during the playoffs. The Broncos and the Patriots are good defenses to stash. If you go the Patriots route, try to get the Bengals defense for week 15. The Patriots play the Steelers. I will add some streamers for each position as well. It is another heavy bye week with the Patriots, Bills, Browns, Dolphins, Jets, and 49ers all not playing this week. Also a quick reminder that most trade deadlines are beginning to creep up. I will have a final trade targets article in the next few days. This week begins the push for the playoffs. As always, my ownership % is based off of ESPN numbers. Goodluck to everyone on their matchups this week!

QB:

Dak Prescott (30.2%)- I have been hounding on this guy since the beginning of the season, but things are starting to turn around for this offense. He is averaging about 24 fantasy points per game in his last 4 games. He isn't going to blow up for 3 or 4 touchdowns but is a solid streamer going forward. He gets a great matchup against the struggling Atlanta Falcons this week.

Marcus Mariota (15.5%)- The Titans have seemed to fix whatever problems they were having during their bye. Since then, Mariota has had back to back 26 point performances. He gets a matchup against the Colts who just allowed Blake Bortles to throw for 320 yards and two touchdowns. Mariota could also get you some points on the ground. He could turn out to be a solid streamer this week.

Lamar Jackson (6.6%)- If Joe Flacco is indeed out, Lamar Jackson will be a must add in all leagues. He has the dual threat ability that could propel him into a fantasy football star. Joe Flacco also needs to be owned in case he is still under center. The Ravens upcoming schedule is fantastic. They get 5 straight matchups against teams who are in the bottom 10 of pass defense this season. Whoever will be starting, is worth a pickup for the rest of the season.

RB:

Royce Freeman (49.6%)- If he is available in your league and you have the roster space, add him. He will easily be a RB2 with RB1 upside if anything were to happen to Philip Lindsay. Freeman has actually scored in 4 of his last 6 games that he was active. He is the goal line back for this team. He may not be the best streamer, but he is a great upside add.

Mike Davis (45.7%)- If Chris Carson misses yet another game, Davis is a great plug and play option. Last week he had 16 PPR points. He lead the team in touches over Rashaad Penny. If Chris Carson is active, this dampers the outlook for Davis this week.

Josh Adams (5.9%)- He is the best back on this team. In his past 2 games, he has ran 16 times for 108 yards. Clement and Smallwood have both failed to rush for over 30 yards in the last two weeks. Doug Peterson has said that Josh Adams will start to get more touches. He definitely has the talent. He just needs the work.

Doug Martin (53.5%)- He is continuing to get the bulk of the carries in this offense. He has yet to top 80 yards since Marshawn Lynch was placed on IR. He is a nice flex option against the Cardinals awful run defense. They have given up 140 rushing yards on average this season. If Marin gets around the same amount of touches he has had in the past few weeks, he could be a solid streamer.

Rashaad Penny (13.1%)- He may not be a asset this year, but he surprised a lot of people last week. He had 12 carries for 108 yards and a touchdown. He looked good. If the Seahawks begin to give him more work, he could end up performing like most people were expecting when they drafted him in August.

Rex Burkhead (9.5%)- I am only stashing him in PPR leagues where I have an open IR spot. He could return as early as week 13. There is no guaranteed outlook for him during the fantasy playoffs, but any injury to Michel or White makes Burkhead a must add.

*ADD YOUR HANDCUFFS- If you own guys like Mixon, Fournette, David Johnson, Gurley, James Conner, and Elliot, it is a great idea to go add their backups just in case.

WR:

Courtland Sutton (52.7%)- If he was dropped in your league go pick him up. He was dropped because of the bye, but he is still going to be a huge piece of the Broncos offense. His schedule rest of season is very appealing. He should have WR2 upside going forward. He needs to be added everywhere.

Anthony Miller (13.4%)- The rookie is finally getting some production for the Bears. He was a target for me during my dynasty rookie drafts this offseason. He has had back to back games with 5 catches and last week had 122 yards with a score. He has scored 3 times since week 6 and could see more opportunities going forward.

John Ross (17.6%)- I liked him a lot before the season started, but he just hasn't panned out. The injury to A.J. Green could give him some opportunity to make some plays. He is still insanely fast and could show that big play ability that I was expecting this season. He scored last week and with his upcoming schedule, he could get a few more touchdowns.

Josh Reynolds (1.1%)- Cooper Kupp has been placed on IR with a torn ACL. This allows Reynolds to have a starting role for the rest of the season. He scored two touchdowns in a game where Kupp missed. He will be the WR3 on this team, but he could take over the redzone role that Kupp had held.

Willie Snead (20.4%)- I had him on this list last week because of his consistent play in PPR leagues. He has had double digit fantasy points in 7 of 9 games this season. He returns from a bye to continue that trend against one of the worst defenses in the league.

Chris Godwin (42.2%)- Coming off his best game this season, Godwin could continue to add to his decent PPR value that he already has. He has had double digit fantasy points in 6 of his 9 games this season. Godwin has the talent, there just are a lot of mouths to feed in this offense. He may not go over for 100 yards every game, but he is a good shot for double digit points going forward.

TE:

Vance Mcdonald (46.9%)- He had a decent game last week as he found his way to the endzone. I think he has a chance of doing it again this week. He is my Njoku bye week fill in. The Jaguars gave up 4 touchdowns to the Colts TE last week. The Steelers are rolling while the Jaguars defense has been a disappointment. I am streaming McDonald this week.

Jeff Heuerman (7.9%)- It has yet to be seen if his 10 catch performance in week 9 was a fluke, but I'm willing to add him and find out. The TE position is a hard one to pin so you will need to try anything. He could be the one who benefits from the Demaryius Thomas trade. He is a solid pickup this week.

D/ST:

Denver Broncos (41.4%) *Playoff Stash

Arizona Cardinals (15.7%)

Carolina Panthers (53.3%)

Pittsburgh Steelers (31.4%)
