Studs & Duds Week 6

Welcome to my Week 6 edition of Studs & Duds! There are currently two teams on a bye this week, the Saints and Lions. Also note the first London game will be this week. It will be the Seahawks and Raiders. There are some really good matchups this week and I am hoping to find those players that will exploit those. We are almost halfway through the fantasy season, so wins can be more important than ever. Goodluck this week and here is my Week 6 Studs & Duds.
STUDS-
QB: Matt Ryan- He has been on fire this season. He currently has 11 touchdowns on the year and is the 3rd highest scoring QB in fantasy. He gets a matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They have gave up a league high 358 passing yards per game. Matt Ryan is currently 2nd in air yards and 7th in total passing yards this season. The Buccaneers have given up the highest PPG to the QB position this season. They have also given up a league high 13 touchdowns, even though they have only played 4 game. This could turn out to be a very high scoring game.
RB: James White- The RB7 on the year gets a great matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. He has had double digit fantasy points in every game this season and 53 in the past two games. He has at least 7 catches in 3 of his last 4 games. In the past two games, White has a total of 24 targets. He has been a PPR machine the last few weeks. The Chiefs are an ideal matchup for how the Patriots use White. They have given up the second most receptions to RB's and the most receiving yards to RB's. They have given up 36.4 points per game this season, which is second worst. The way this game should play out, White will be involved all game long.
RB: Chris Carson- I have been less optimistic than most on Carson this season. It looks like the Seahawks are fully committed to giving him the ball. In the past two games he has had 51 carries for 251 yards. That kind of usage is eye opening. The Seahawks get a matchup against the Oakland Raiders who have given up an average of 127 yards rushing yards per game. The Raiders are currently giving up 24.8 points per game in standard leagues, which is the 5th highest. They are also giving up 30.2 points per game in PPR leagues which is the 6th highest. If Carson is given enough carries in this game, he should outperform his projection.
WR: Juilo Jones- Now there will be a requirement for me to call him a Hit for next week. I say this is the week Julio scores his first touchdown. It is going to happen people. The Buccaneers have given up a touchdown to the #1 receiving option in every game this year. They are currently giving up 51.5 points per game to the WR position. They have also allowed 9 TD to opposing WR which is second worst in the league. You heard it here first, Julio gets his first TD of the season this week.
WR: Julian Edelman- In his first game back, Edelman caught 7 passes for 57 yards. He had a total of 9 targets in this game. I think this game against the Chiefs is where he goes off. This should be a fairly high scoring game. Edelman should matchup with Kendall Fuller. In games Fuller played more than 70% snaps he has given up an average 7 catches a game. In those games he has also allowed 96 on average. Brady should lean heavily on Edelman this week.
TE: Jimmy Graham- I was down on Graham during the preseason, but that was mainly due to his draft price. He has been averaging 8 targets a game in the last 4 starts. With how injured this WR core is, he should continue to get the work. There are only 2 teams who have given up more than 3 TD to the tight end position this year. The 49ers are one of them. Now they have been playing the TE fairly decent, but they are susceptible to scores. A place where Graham has shined in his career. I'm expecting a good game this week.
DUDS:
QB: Marcus Mariota- He has had one decent game all season. In week 4, he threw for 344 yards and 2 touchdowns. In his other 3 games he has started, he has not topped 200 yards. Now some of those games were due to his early season injury. Last week though, he only threw for 129 yards total. This week he gets a matchup against the Ravens. A team who has given up only 215 yards per game this season. They have the second lowest points allowed per game to QB at 15.1 points. They have only given up 6 total passing touchdowns on the season. I don't see that number increasing to much this week.
RB: Adrian Peterson- As of today, Peterson is practicing. He is still going to be a little banged up in this game. I think this will be a very pass heavy game for the Redskins, as the Panthers could have a big lead in this game. Earlier in the season, Peterson has taken a back seat in these types of games. The Panthers have only allowed 2 rushing touchdowns on the year. Through 5 weeks, the Panthers have allowed only 67.4 yards per game to RB. It could be a disappointing week for AP.
RB: Kenyan Drake- He scored the 6th most fantasy points for running backs last week, but that won't be the case in week 6. He was given only 6 carries last week, but had 7 catches including a touchdown. Drake gets a matchup against the Chicago Bears this week. They have allowed a league low 13 receptions to the RB position this season. They have also allowed a league low 205 rushing yards. They have yet to give up a rushing TD. Keep Drake on your bench.
WR: Alshon Jeffery- After returning from injury in week 4, he caught 8 passes for 105 yards and touchdown. Last week wasn't so great. He only managed 2 catches for 39 yards. The Giants have given up the least amount of fantasy points per game to the WR position. They have also only allowed 2 total touchdowns to WR all season. This game should go through Zack Ertz.
WR: Michael Crabtree- Although he has averaged 10 targets in the past 4 games, he hasn't been able to do much with them. He has averaged just 49 yards per game this season. He may get a tough matchup against Adoree' Jackson. In games where Jackson played over 60% of the snaps, he has allowed only 33 yards per game. Jackson has yet to give up double digit fantasy points in any game this season. It could be another rough game for Crabtree.
TE: Greg Olsen- I am tempering my expectations for Olsen this week. He practiced in full on Thursday and looks to be ready to play. He had re-fractured the same foot that he fractured last season. All it takes is a bad landing on his foot to keep him out of the game. The Redskins have actually only allowed 181 yards to the TE this season. That is the 3rd best. A tough matchup and it being his first game back from injury, is why he is a Dud for me.
