Matthew Berry's Vampire League Update

A few weeks ago I wrote about this league that I was able to play in with ESPN's Matthew Berry. If you are not aware of what a vampire league is, I suggest going back to my post. I explained how the league works in detail. I have decided I will do an update every three weeks to see how it is going. I may post one on week 8 instead of week 9 just because I play him that week.
For me it started out strong. Scoring a league high 296.4 points. I was 2-0 looking solid with a great team. I unfortunately drafted Le'Veon Bell in this league but was smart and drafted James Conner with one of my last picks. I also have had big performances by Julio Jones, Devante Adams, James Conner, and Evan Engram, to help me get on this hot streak. This week I got completely destroyed losing 164.5-1004. If I was playing Berry this week, I would have most likely lost Juilo Jones or James Connor. I move to 2-1 and will be second in my division. I like my chances of performing well in this league and am going to look for a chance to make it to the championship.
Matthew Berry's team on the other hand isn't doing so hot. Although he did come close to winning this week, but I will get to that later on. He makes his pickups every Wednesday as he tries to create a team each week to beat us.

Week one for Berry was a poor performance all around. Granted, this was the week he was able to create his team. He was defeated 128-85.2. Even with an optimal lineup, he would still have lost. His best pickups for week one was Kenny Golladay, James White, and Adrian Peterson. Although he did bench AP. Some of his pickups will translate to future success in the coming weeks. Above I have posted the score for his week one matchup.

Week 2 was definitely a nail biter for the team playing Berry. The final score was 103.3-98.7. Berry's opponent took the safe route and decided to bench all of his star players. His bench included Todd Gurley, A.J. Green, Rob Gronkowski, Tyreek Hill, and Aaron Rodgers. He has a pretty amazing team to say the least. I get that he didn't want Berry to take one of his players if he won, but I'm going all out to play against the top ESPN analyst. Matthew Berry had a few ways he could have won this week. One was starting Matt Breida over Adrian Peterson. Another was keeping Andy Dalton, instead of dropping him for Tyrod Taylor. His main waiver adds this week were Quincy Enunwa and Tyler Lockett. He came close to getting his first win.

Week 3 was another close battle. Berry almost came back at the end but ended up losing 128.8-116.4. This week he gave Ryan Fitzpatrick a go. As well as adding Giovani Bernard, DeSean Jackson, and my new favorite kicker, Sam Ficken. What a Ficken good name if you ask me. His opponent went back and forth in our group chat deciding whether or not to play his studs. Ultimately, he put out his best lineup and because of that, he got the victory. Berry would have won this week if he played AP and Tyler Lockett instead of Quincy Enunwa and DeSean Jackson.
Through 3 weeks of the season Berry's team is getting stronger and stronger. He has built a solid team which has been performing at a pretty good rate. I would not be surprised if his first win comes in the near future. If he is able to rack up a few wins before he gets to me in week 8, I am going to be a little worried. This has been a fun experience so far and hoping I can win this league to add it to my submission to get into his Man's League next season.
