Hits and Misses From Week 6

10/17/2018

Here is a look back on how my studs and duds went for week 6. It was an exciting week, where we saw some high scoring games. If you had players from the Titans or the Raiders that wasn't the case. For week 5, I once again went 7 out of 12 correct picks. I was hoping to improve that this week. We are now just over halfway in the season and I don't know about you, but it has flown by for me. Look out for my rankings and an update from Matthew Berry's Vampire League.

Hits:

QB: Matt Ryan (Stud)- He is once again a fantasy star. He improved his already stellar season with another top 5 finish in week 6. He threw for 354 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Buccaneers streak of allowing three or more passing touchdowns a game is still alive. He spread the ball around and got almost all of his play-makers the ball. He should continue on this top 5 pace for the rest of the season. He looks to be one of the steals from drafts this offseason.

WR: Julian Edelman (Stud)- He didn't catch as many passes as I was expecting, but he still had a good game. He had 7 total targets in this game and had 54 yards and a touchdown. He ran the most routes for the Patriots on Sunday night. He is going to continue to be a huge PPR asset as the season continues.

TE: Jimmy Graham (Stud)- He didn't score a touchdown in this game like I was expecting, but he had 5 catches for 104 yards. He saw 9 total targets, which was second highest for the Packers. Although he didn't score, he was still able to have top 6 performance. As long as Cobb and Allison are injured, Graham will continue to be one of Aaron Rodgers safety blankets.

QB: Marcus Mariota (Dud)- It was a rough day for Mariota. He was sacked more times than he had completed passes. That's a stat you don't see everyday. He threw for only 117 yards and had 25 yards on the ground. The Titans struggled to get past midfield most of this game. Mariota could have another rough game against the Chargers this week.

RB: Adrian Peterson (Dud)- He had a disappointing week in PPR leagues in Week 6. He caught zero passes and ran for 97 yards. He ended up finishing as the RB29 on the week. He should continue to get a ton of work on the ground, but his lack of usage in the passing game makes him touchdown dependent for PPR leagues.

RB: Kenyan Drake (Dud)- He actually finished one spot higher than Peterson did this week. He was the RB28 on the week. Drake finished his day with 57 rushing yards and 4 catches for 21 yards. Frank Gore stole the show in this game, as he had more carries than Drake and actually had 101 yards. It continues to be a timeshare to stay away from.

TE: Greg Olsen (Dud)- Well it is the first week that I hit on both of my TE picks. It was promising to watch Olsen get through this game without any setbacks. He finished his day with 4 catches for 48 yards. He was the TE16 on the week. As he gets more practices in, he should get more work in the offense. Olsen will have better days in the near future.

Misses:

RB: James White (Stud)- He didn't have as well of a game as I was expecting, but it was decent. Sony Michel took over this game with two total touchdowns and 106 rushing yards. The Patriots were up in most of the game which limited White's usage. He ended the day as the RB15. He had 39 rushing yards and 5 catches for 53 yards. He will still be an important part of this offense going forward.

RB: Chris Carson (Stud)- He seemed to stay on the bench towards the end of the game, while Mike Davis and Rashaad Penny got some work. He finished the day with 14 rushes for only 59 yards. He didn't get a single target in this game. It was surprising to see how little touches he got in this game after two good games.

WR: Juilo Jones (Stud)- He made this end of the list because he didn't score a TD. He is a Stud every week so putting him as my pick wasn't a hot take. I said he would have to score a touchdown to count him as a hit and he failed to do so. He did finish the day with 10 catches 143 yards. He will continue to have these types of games, but lets hope he gets a touchdown in some of them.

WR: Alshon Jeffery (Dud)- It seems to be a theme that a dud pick for WR that plays on Thursday night, blows up. First it was A.J. Green, and now it's Jeffery. He finished the day with 8 catches for 74 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was on fire in this game. It was a hard matchup but he was able to overcome. He should be a top option for Wentz going forward.

WR: Michael Crabtree (Dud)- It was a bad week for WR picks. He continued to get a high volume of targets, but in this game he actually did something with them. He caught 6 passes for 93 yards and a touchdown. John Brown took a back seat in this game, but I don't expect that to be the case every week.

I once again went 7 for 12 in my picks this week. It is good that I am getting more right than wrong, but I am looking for progress. Look for my Studs and Duds article on Thursday afternoon.
