As the Trade Deadline Approaches...

11/16/2018

Unfortunately some trade deadlines have already passes. I know some Yahoo leagues have an earlier trade deadline, but for a good amount of people, it is getting down to the wire. This may be your last chance to get some deals done to help either help build for the playoffs, or even fight for a spot. I will include guys I am looking to trade for and guys I am looking to get rid off. Trades can be a tedious task, but worthwhile if you can get the right deal. Feel free to contact me on twitter about any trade proposals you need help with. Trades are a big part of this game and it is important to work on these before the deadline hits.

Trade For:

QB: Cam Newton- Funny enough I have tried to trade him in one of my leagues each of the past 8 weeks. No takers. It's funny to me, they must not see his schedule going forward. A quick note on why I am trying to trade him, I drafted Mahomes in the 16th round. If you are looking like you will be in the playoffs, he is the number one QB target to trade for. Starting week 13, he gets matchups against the Buccaneers, Browns, Saints, and then the Falcons for the fantasy championship. He is going to win some people leagues this year.

RB: David Johnson- The change to Byron Leftwich for offensive coordinator has been fantastic for David Johnson. We are seeing a ton of work in the passing game, as well as creative run schemes. His price might be pretty high right now, but he could be a game changer for the playoffs. He faces the Lions in week 14 and then the Falcons in week 15, both bottom 10 rush defenses. The Falcons have also given up the most receptions to the RB this season. If anything, Johnson should help you get to that championship game.

RB: Dalvin Cook- Another guy who's price may be pretty high right now, but he could be huge for the end of the season. Hopefully you read my previous trade target article and was able to get him while he was cheap. He has looked good in his game back from his hamstring injury. His carries are set to increase. He is a special talent and gets two bottom 10 rush defenses in the fantasy playoffs.

RB: LeSean McCoy- Here is a cheaper target that could be a solid RB2 for you towards the end of the season. From weeks 12-16, he gets 4 straight games against bottom 15 rush defenses. He had his best game of the season last week so there may be some people looking to get rid of him. I'd check the price for McCoy if you are hurting for a RB. Last week he had 26 rushes for 113 yards and two touchdowns.

RB: Matt Breida- This is a great week to go and get Breida. Especially if that team is in a must win situation. He is on a bye this week so you may be able to use that to your advantage. His fantasy playoff schedule doesn't scare me. He gets the Broncos in week 14 and the Seahawks in week 15. Both teams have shown recently they can be ran on. He looked amazing last week against the Jets. People forget how well he ran the ball in the beginning of the season.

WR: Robert Woods- I am actually happy to say I made a trade for him a few days ago. For reference I traded Chris Carson and Marvin Jones for him. I have 5 starting RB on my team. He has been probably one the most consistent WR in the league this season. It seems like he is good for at least 5 catches for 70 yards each week. The injury from Cooper Kupp is going to open up some more opportunity for Woods to continue his impressive season.

WR: Josh Gordon- He has been getting a ton of targets in the past 5 weeks. Averaging almost 9 targets a game since week 6. That many targets in a Patriots offense usually translates to productive fantasy stats. He constantly gets deep shots every game. Brady likes him a lot and with the amount of injuries they have had this season, Gordon will continue to be a big part of this offense.

WR: Courtland Sutton- Go get him before the deadline hits. He could be fairly cheap because of his down game in week 9. He is set to explode in the final weeks of the fantasy season. From weeks 12-16 he faces 5 straight teams that are in the bottom 15 against the WR. He is going to get a huge increase in targets with Demaryius Thomas now playing for the Texans. He is a cheap trade target that could turn into a solid WR2.

WR: Amari Cooper- Amari has burned me so many times. Like way too many. So this one may have some bad ju-ju around it. In his first two games with the Cowboys, he has caught 11 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown. The biggest thing that I am seeing is the amount of targets he is getting. He has 18 in two weeks. If he stays around the 8-10 target range, he is going to be very relevant. He has one of the best rest of season schedules that you could have. He will play against 4 teams with a bottom 5 pass defense. You may be able to get him for fairly cheap.

TE: O.J. Howard- Get him while you can, as his price might be the lowest it has been in some time. He had a really down game where he had only 15 yards. In that game Fitzpatrick threw for over 400 yards. I'm calling it a fluke. Howard has been one of the better TE options this season. He plays 3 bottom 15 defenses against the TE in weeks 13-16.

TE: David Njoku- Target him this week if a team currently is in a must win and they have no other options. He is on a bye and could be acquired for cheap. He has had some down games, but this offense is looking better each week. He faces a bottom 15 defense for the rest of the season. Including two games against the Bengals, who are one of the worst passing defenses.

Trade Away:

QB: Tom Brady- If you didn't know I am a die hard Patriots fan. So me to telling you to trade Brady should mean something. Since week 6 he has only had one game with multiple passing touchdowns. The Patriots have converted to a run first team. The defense has started to come together and Brady doesn't need to get into shootouts. His name could carry huge trade value. He faces 3 top 15 pass defenses in the playoffs.

RB: Chris Carson- His decent game on Thursday night could help trading him a bit more easier. I am not a fan of timeshare backfields. The Seahawks have 3 RB who will get touches every week. Carson had 17 touches while the other two combined for 14. They are going to cut into his workload. He is a good piece that could net you a solid starter.

RB: Mark Ingram- He is going to be very touchdown dependent for the rest of the season. Kamara is the primary back there and it shows. Ingram will be good for around 10-15 touches each week. That could translate to big games, like we saw last week, and also down ones like in week 9. He may still have some name value and after his big week 10 game, someone may be interested.

RB: Adrian Peterson- He has an awful schedule going forward. He faces 5 top 15 rush defenses in the last 6 games of the fantasy season. It is going to be tough for Peterson to get much going. He hasn't played a full season in some time, so he may begin to wear down as well. If you can get a decent trade from his early season success, go for it.

WR: Alshon Jeffery- He has a tough fantasy playoff schedule this year. With the addition of Golden Tate and the recent uptick in work for Josh Adams, Jeffery may start to lose some work. Tate gives the team an extra weapon and Adams is going to help more on the ground game. A spot where the Eagles have struggled this season. His high amount of targets is surely going to come down.

WR: Stefon Diggs- Only get rid of him if you can get a great player in return. Maybe try to put him and a RB together to get a top 5 WR or RB. He has a great schedule from weeks 12-14. Once the second round of playoffs begin, he will get back to back games against great shutdown corners. One including Darius Slay. If you are looking like a playoff team, I would try to move him for a top player.

WR: Marvin Jones- He is banged up and it wouldn't surprise me if he misses one more this season. He may get matchups with Patrick Peterson, Tre'Davious White, and possibly Xaiver Rhodes in the fantasy playoffs. He isn't going to win you a championship this season. His recent games should help you be able to move him.

TE: Eric Ebron- Get rid of him as soon as you can. His value is at a season high and will decrease in the coming weeks. He has played under 40% of snaps in each of the last two games since Jack Doyle has returned. He has only got 6 total targets in the last 2 games also. His touchdown rate is unsustainable with the amount of playing time he is getting. Sell high.

Now go out there and make some trades! Also if you can get a top 10 player at their position in a trade go for it. Try to prepare your team for the playoffs. Teams that get ready early, tend to have an advantage over the other playoff teams.
